Knitting is my passion. Designing and creating my original pieces has always been a cherished pastime. At first there were doll clothes and accessories. Then came clothing for me, my family members, friends and finally patrons, using only fine quality fibers like cashmere, silk, and wool. BUT now my wire sculptural pieces are demanding to be created. They begin simply as knitting needles, wire, and an idea. From there, as I knit “freeform”, without any type of instructions, the materials become a whimsical creature or something closer to a piece of reality. While color is added and the piece given its final shape new ideas are bubbling through my creative center. Although I still enjoy producing articles of clothing and jewelry, my wire knitting has become the favorite child.
